  • Make your subscriber feel appreciated
  • Make your reader feel like part of a special group or “family”
  • Tell your subscriber what to expect now that they’ve subscribed or signed up with you, e.g. breaking news along with a weekly “tip sheet”
  • Ask your readers to take a next step:  “next,” might be “like us on Facebook,” “check out our latest report from the field,” “use this 15% coupon in the next week as our welcome to the family” or “confirm your subscription in the email coming to you.”
